OFF-SITE VOLUNTEERS

There are many opportunities for volunteers to assist the shelter without attending the shelter.

Special Events Volunteers:

Promotional Team:

The shelter coordinates a number of promotional, educational and fundraising events that need the support of volunteers.  We are looking for people to help raise the profile of Animal Aid.  We need volunteers who are available to help during the working week or on weekends to supervise displays at shopping centres, special events like Animal Expos and other events throughout the year.

Fundraising Program:

The Animal Aid has a fundraising team that is the think-tank behind the major events that the shelter holds.  Volunteers who feel that they can contribute to the fundraising program in any way are invited to do so.

Community Awareness Programs:

Volunteers contact members and business in the local community and distribute brochures or other information to create awareness of the shelter and increase the community's understanding of animal welfare issues.

Making Blankets and Coats For the Animals:

The shelter is always in need of coats and blankets to keep our four-legged friends warm during the colder months.  If you'd like to make knitted coats for our animals please call the shelter for advice.

Craft and Specialty Goods:

Volunteers who enjoy making handcrafted items to sell at special events the Animal Aid holds are invited to contribute to the shelter in this way.

Opportunity Shop Staff:

We are looking for people who would be committed to managing or helping in the daily running of our opportunity shops in Blackburn and Croydon.  More on our Op Shops - Opportunity Shops

Foster Parent Program:

This is a program where volunteers care for young abandoned kittens or puppies in their home.  For more on fostering click this link - Foster Parent Program.

If you would like to help the shelter in any capacity please follow this link to the registration form.  volunteer registration form.
