School and Community Group Visits Print E-mail

Animal Aid is always happy to open their doors and we welcome visits from schools and community groups. If your school or group would like to visit the shelter, all you need to do is call and arrange a mutually convenient time and let us know what your special interest in visiting the shelter is. We can arrange for you to do some volunteer work or activities or just show you around.

Visiting Animal Aid is a great opportunity to see what is involved in the day to day operation of an animal welfare shelter. You will get to see all the beautiful cats and dogs that are looking for new and permanent homes. After your tour you will have a better understanding of how and why they have come to be with us and the extra lengths that Animal Aid go to make sure they don't end up in a shelter again.

Please remember that there are Workplace Health and Safety concerns when you visit a shelter. Ideally group sizes should not exceed 15, to ensure that all students and visitors can clearly hear their guide and maintain a safe level of supervision.

To arrange a tour please call Karen Blizzard on 9739 0300 and I'm sure that you will see that Animal Aid is so much more than just a shelter.

Please note: Animal Aid cannot provide work experience or community service placements during December or January.
