| Meg – Animal Training Coordinator |
I started working at Animal Aid in September 2009 where I commenced as the Animal Training Co-ordinator. To me, this was a once in a lifetime role, as I had spent much of the previous 20 years training and competing with dogs. Not long after being here, I was then given the opportunity to also take on the role of Shelter Kennels Supervisor. Whilst taking on the two roles, can at times be a handful, the two roles work so closely together it is a good fit. My role is made easier with the support of the kennels team (who often refer to themselves as Team Awesome) and the volunteers.
Like most of the other staff here at Animal Aid, I also share my life with an assortment of four legged furry friends. |
| Lynn – Shelter Cattery Supervisor |
I joined the Animal Aid team shortly after they moved to Coldstream. Being a local and having a natural affinity for the feline species I was drawn to the wonderful work done by the staff and volunteers. I know that our cattery is a very special place, because people tell me so every day. I am very proud of the many points of difference that we have as a shelter and the extra lengths we go for every animal. |
| Sally - Customer Service Officer |
I have been with the organisation for 11 years, having started as an animal attendant. I have always had a strong passion and a great respect for the animals, having grown up with them. Although often very challenging, I love my role and maintain the same passion I had when I started. I am proud to be a part of Animal Aid and the great team of people who help to make Animal Aid the shelter it is. |
| Susie - Shelter Kennel Supervisor |
My name is Susie and I’ve been with Animal Aid since December 2008. I started as an Animal Welfare Officer, and now I am the Supervisor in the Shelter Kennels.
Always animal crazy, I completed a Science degree with a zoology major in 2007, and Animal Aid is the perfect place to spend my time. With our hardworking, dedicated team, I really feel that we make a difference to all of the animals in our care.
When I’m not at work, I like to hang out with my own adopted family, being a maltese, a kelpie, a greyhound cross, 5 ferrets, 3 chooks, a horse and a small green parrot named Angus. |
| Peter - Animal Welfare Officer |
I’m Peter and I’ve been working with the dogs at Animal Aid for 9 years. Prior to this I was an accountant and operator of a small business for some years. I also act as Animal Aid’s caretaker afterhours, and live on the property with my 3 fluffy dogs and 1 cranky cat (that rules the dogs with an iron paw). |
| Chloe - Animal Welfare Officer |
My name is Chloe and I first started at Animal Aid in 2008 as a volunteer. In August 2009, I was lucky enough to become a full time staff member.
I love my job at Animal Aid because I feel that we really make a difference. I always look forward to coming into work because I get to see my 4-legged and 2-legged friends.
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my own dog Ruby Doo (a border collie cross) who we adopted from Animal Aid, and with my horse. |
| Demi - Animal Welfare Officer |
My name is Demi and I’m an Animal Welfare Officer in the shelter kennels. I started volunteering at Animal Aid in February 2011, and I’m now enjoying a full time role.
I love helping the dogs and puppies find their forever homes, and giving them plenty of TLC while they are here!
If I’m not at the shelter I’m hanging out with my cat and three gorgeous dogs, one of whom is an Animal Aid puppy. |
| Liam - Animal Attendant |
Hello, my name is Liam. I first came into contact with Animal Aid during work experience and enjoyed it so much I signed up as a volunteer straight away. When the opportunity arose to work here I was thrilled. I have almost finished a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Biosciences and look forward to applying what I’ve learnt in the workplace.
I come from a family of animal lovers and we’ve never been short on pets. My current pets include the family dog Max, 4 cats, 2 blue-tongue lizards and a rat.
My interests outside the kennels include karate, heavy metal music, reading and hanging out with my friends and family. |
